Once you start your third trimester you will need to start getting seriously organised. There are so many things to get ready before you baby arrives and one of the main essentials is getting your hospital bag ready.
So what need’s to go into your hospital bag? You will need one set of items for the labour and birth and another set for afterwards and for preparing to go home.
Your labour and birth bundle should contain some of the following;
- Loose nightdress or long t shirts Plenty of underwear
- Hairbrush, ties and clips
- Wash bag with spare towel and toiletries
- Toothpaste and toothbrush
- Sanitary pads
- Nursing bra
- Baby clothes, nappies and wipes
- Fresh night clothes for after baby’s birth
- Camera and spare batteries.
Your After the Birth bundle needs;
- Maternity sanitary pads
- breast pads
- Spare clothes
- Lots and lots of nappies
- Babygrows and onesies
- Baby vests
- Washcloth and towels
- Baby bibs
- Baby going home clothes
- Baby hats to keep your little one’s head warm, especially in cool weather.
And a maternity bag will be very useful to keep all your bits and bobs together. Be sure to get one that can also be used as a baby changing bag for when you start bringing baby out and about. It’s best to get your changing bag before you go into hospital so you can have it packed and ready to go at a moment’s notice.
